Community Futures was established by the Government of Canada in 1986 to help rural communities develop strategies and offer practical help to deal with changing economic times.
As we believe that local decision making and local development are the most effective means for communities to shape their own futures, the program is run from a number of local offices where decisions are taken by local people.
On this site you can read about the significant ongoing impact of the initiative in the Island Coastal Region of BC, and link through to any of our local office websites for more detailed information.
